Sweeping of town roads is underway. Drive slowly in summer work zones for our safety and yours. Stay alert and lookout for our personnel, signs, trucks, bright colored shirts and slow moving equipment at any time.

This is another true life story, starring Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke. Maud Lewis (March 7, 1903 – July 30, 1970) was a Canadian folk artist from Nova Scotia. She remains one of Canada's best known folk artists. In 1930's rural Nova Scotia Maud suffers from rheumatoid arthritis. Because of her unusual gait from the arthritis, she is often mistaken as a stupid, incapable woman. That view is held by her surviving family. After her brother sells the family home and Maud is forced to live with her aunt, she decides to seek some independence. She the only applicant for a posted job as housekeeper for brusque Everett Lewis, a poor fish seller. Their story is beautifully filmed entirely in Nova Scotia.
