During the month of July DPW will be paving/shimming in preparation of chipseal and at the middle to end of August chipseal will take place on the following roads: Babcock Hill Rd, Williams Crossing Rd, Pigeon Swamp Rd, Cook Hill Rd, Synagogue Rd, Carriage Dr, Scenic Dr, First St, Lake Williams Dr and Lake Shore Dr. Residents please be mindful of your speed during the chipseal process. Loose stone will exist on the roads during the curing process and cleanup/sweeping of remaining stone should start at the end August.
Eversource along with Asplundh Tree contractors will be working in various parts of town for the next several months on several utility enhancement projects including tree trimming and some tree removal. The areas of town with the most activity include sections of; Exeter Rd, Trumbull Hwy, Goshen Hill Rd, Bender Rd, Gates Rd, Jordan Ln, Old Route 89 and Rafferty Rd. Residents please be careful when passing through Work Zones and if residents plan on picking any wood left behind please be mindful of your safety while doing so.

July Artist of the Month at the Jonathan Trumbull Library, Kent Rice, will be hosting four free drawing lessons.
Supplies provided. Just bring your creativity and an open mind.
Maximum 10 students, aged 16 and older.
Classes are currently full, but those interested can still sign up for the waitlist.
Kent studied art at the University of North Carolina and at Lyme Academy College. At Lyme, he studied portraiture and figure study as well as painting and sculpture. He names his four most notable instructors: Dean Keller for drawing and anatomy, Peter Zolinger for drawing, Elizabeth Chandler, founder of the academy, and Don Gal for sculpture.
