Dear Statewide VSO Commanders:
It has been my honor to serve as Acting Commissioner of the Department of Veterans Affairs since last October and I thank you for your support and kind words in person and through social media. At the DVA we continue to explore and implement new dynamic approaches to delivering programs and services to our Connecticut Veterans. Among these are recent advances to the DVA’s online presence which includes a completely updated website and a CTVeterans mobile app.
The DVA’s new website – located at www.ct.gov/DVA – has a clean user friendly interface, updated and more detailed information about the services, programs and benefits offered to Connecticut Veterans by the DVA and other agencies. The website is also self-adjusting resulting in a seamless transition from computer to mobile device.
The CTVeterans mobile app is available for both Apple and Android mobile devices and connects Veterans, current service members and their families to a directory of services the state provides for Veterans, as well as access to the Veterans Crisis hotline and information on how to support veterans in the state. The new Mobile App can be downloaded free of charge from the iTunes Store and Google Play Store by searching the keyword “CTVeterans.” I highly encourage you to download this app and to share it with Veterans.
In addition to our new Website and Mobile App the DVA has a robust social media presence using Facebook, Instagram and Twitter platforms to communicate a variety of messages including upcoming events and current happenings at our Rocky Hill Campus and throughout the State Veterans’ community.
If you have any of these accounts I hope you will friend or follow the DVA as ‘CT Veterans Affairs’ on Facebook, ‘ctvetsaffairs’ on Instagram, and ‘@CTVetsAffairs’ on Twitter.
Thank you for your continued support and should you have any questions please contact my office at 860-616-3603.
