This fall, the Town of Lebanon will complete a project which includes the replacement of four culverts which are in disrepair on Bender Road, Church Road, Card Street, and Olenick Road. The Town has partnered with Anchor Engineering Services for management of this project and contracted Milton C. Beebe & Sons, Inc. to perform the work of replacing the culverts and reconstructing portions of the roadway.
Construction will begin on Bender Road on September 10. The deteriorated metal pipe that carries Susquetonscut Brook will be replaced with a new steel-reinforced polyethylene pipe with metal ends. This pipe is located between 167 and 219 Bender Road. Please note that a section of Bender Road will be closed from Friday, September 14 until late October.
Shortly after the closure on Bender Road, a section of Church Road will also be closed when the contractor begins work on replacing that culvert. That closure is expected to occur around September 19 and may last until early November but dates for this part of the project are still being finalized. The Town will provide further updates when they become available. Closures at Card Street and Olenick Road will follow.
No more than two roads will have closures at a time through the duration of this project.
This will minimize the disruption to residents and traffic while still allowing the project to be completed in timely manner and before the winter weather begins.
The Town is also coordinating with public safety and Board of Education personnel.
Following completion of the culvert replacement on Bender Road, work is expected to begin on Card Street. Work on Olenick Road will begin when the Church Street portion of the project is finished.
Notices regarding this have already gone out to residents of Bender Road and notices will be sent out to residents of the other affected roads as details are finalized.
Updates will be available to all residents here.
