The Board of Assessment Appeals is an elected body empowered by State Statute to hear and decide appeals of property assessments. The Board meets during the month of March to hear appeals for all categories of assessed property including real estate, personal property and supplemental motor vehicles. The application must be received between February 1 and February 20. Postmarks are not accepted and no extensions are granted.
Motor Vehicle Appeals: Pursuant to Section 12-110 of the Connecticut General Statutes, any person claiming to be aggrieved by the doings of the Assessor may appeal their assessment for motor vehicles on the October 1, 2024 Grand List to the Board of Assessment Appeals. Such appeal shall be made in person to the Board on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Lebanon Town Hall, 579 Exeter Rd., Lebanon, CT.
Members of the Board of Assessment Appeals are elected.
