Legal Notice: Tax Collector's Notice on Executive Order 9R (COVID19 Tax Deferment Program)

Notice is hereby given to all persons liable to pay taxes in the Town of Lebanon, Connecticut: that I have a warrant to collect a tax at the mil rate of 28.2 on the dollar, on the Grand List as last perfected; and that said tax is due and payable July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021. The second installment of Real Estate and Personal Property bills and the entire amount of Motor Vehicle Supplemental Tax bills are now due January 1st, 2021.  For the purpose of collecting said tax, I shall be at the Lebanon Town Hall, 579 Exeter Road, Lebanon, CT 06249 during the month of January, by appointment, on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Tuesdays, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.  The Lebanon Town Hall is closed on Wednesdays. The Town Hall will be closed on Monday January 1st, 2021 in observance of New Year’s Day. Payments may be made by mail or online through the town website: lebanonct.gov.  If a receipt is desired, a stamped, self- addressed envelope must be enclosed.  If taxes are paid by mail, they must be postmarked no later than April 1st, 2021, in accordance with Executive Order 9R deferment program. After April 1st, 2021 this tax becomes delinquent and interest will be charged from the due date at one and one half percent, per month or fraction thereof, eighteen percent per annum, the minimum interest charge is $2.00. Failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax or interest. The Statutes of the State of Connecticut that apply to the levy and collection of taxes will be enforced.
