Tax Collector’s Legal Notice
Notice is hereby given to all persons liable to pay taxes in the Town of Lebanon, Connecticut: on the 2025 Grand List as last perfected; said tax is due and payable July 1st, 2026. The First installment of Real Estate and Personal Property bills are due July 1, 2026. Motor Vehicle tax is due and payable July 1st,2026.
Payments may be made in person or by mail at Tax Office, 579 Exeter Rd. Lebanon, CT 06249 or online at lebanonct.gov. Office hours are Mon, Thurs & Fri 8am-4pm, Tues 8am-6pm, CLOSED Wednesdays.
After August 3rd, 2026, this tax becomes delinquent and interest will be charged from the due date at 1.5% per month or fraction thereof, 18% per annum, the minimum interest charge is $2.00. Failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax or interest. The Statutes of the State of Connecticut that apply to the levy and collection of taxes will be enforced.
If you did not receive a tax bill for property you own, contact the Tax Office at 860-642-7222.
State Statute 12-130 states that failure to receive a bill does not invalidate the tax, interest, or fees.
If the notation BACK TAXES ALSO DUE appears on your bill, please call the Tax Office at 860-642-7222.
This notation means you have unpaid taxes for a prior period. The prior bill will need to be paid before payment can be accepted on your current bill.
What is Taxed?
Three types of properties are assessed and subject to taxes:
Real Estate: Any land or buildings you own fall under the category of Real Estate.
Motor Vehicles: Registered motorized or unmotorized vehicles (such as cars, trucks, motorcycles)
Personal Property: Personal Property is a very general category that includes machinery, equipment, furniture and fixtures, whether
owned or leased by business and industry, as well as unregistered motor vehicles including campers.
