Adjourned Annual Town Meeting to be held May 16; Budget Referendum to be held May 24

The date of the Adjourned Annual Town Meeting will be May 16, 2022 at 7:30 PM  Lyman Memorial High School. A budget referendum will be held May 24, 2022 at the Fire Safety Complex.

As a result of a newspaper misprint, the Town was not able to comply with the 5-day legal publication requirements to hold the Annual Town Meeting on the first Monday in May, as is required in the Town Charter. Without that proper notice, Town Meeting could legally proceed to consider the budget or other business.

Town Meeting was called to order on Monday under the Charter but could only lawfully act to adjourn the meeting to a specific date and time in the future to allow for proper publication. May 16 was selected as the date to hold the Adjourned Annual Town Meeting.
