Library Building Committee
The Library Building Committee was established at Town Meeting on January 31, 2011, to plan and oversee the expansion of the Jonathan Trumbull Library. It was a nine-member committee appointed by the Board of Selectmen with terms to end at the completion of the project.
In 2015, a proposal for the project passed at referendum. The project experienced a series of delays related to legal issues surrounding the ownership of the Lebanon Green and later the COVID19 pandemic.
Construction began in July 2021. The Jonathan Trumbull Library re-opened in August 2022. On August 7, 2023, the Library Building Committee notified the Board of Selectmen that it had completed its charge.
The project was funded in part with grants from the Hugh Trumbull Adams Trust and the State of Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development.
